Pharmacy Technician Certificate Program


This program is designed to prepare students for national certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. Our two-semester program also trains individuals for gainful employment as a pharmacy technician in various pharmacy settings. Students must complete two 90-hour classes: Pharmacy Technician—Level I and Pharmacy Technician—Level II. Level I is offered in the fall semester and consists of lecture and lab instruction. Upon successful completion of Level I, students will enroll in the spring semester Level II course, which includes 80 hours of clinical experience in a local pharmacy and 10 hours of national certification exam preparation.

Additional Information  
Students must bring all of the following to register for Pharmacy Technician—Level I:  
  • High school diploma or GED and proof of satisfactory scores on ASSET or COMPASS.
 
OR
 
  • Completion of MAT 060 with a “C” or better and ENG 095 with a “C” or better
 
OR
 
  • High school diploma or GED and a combination of acceptable ASSET scores or successful completion of appropriate math and English courses.
 
   
  • $60 may be paid by cash (exact amount only), check, credit card, or voucher
 
  • Driver's license
