Basic Law Enforcement Training is a curriculum certification course that is required in North Carolina to become a police officer or deputy sheriff. To be eligible for the program, participants must possess a high school diploma or GED, be at least 20 years old, must obtain certified record check, have no felony convictions, and obtain sponsorship from a North Carolina law enforcement agency.
Students entering the Basic Law Enforcement Training program must meet standards as indicated by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Standards and the North Carolina Sheriff’s Standards Division of the North Carolina Department of Justice. Students must meet the following requirements to become enrolled in the program:
Basic Law Enforcement Training classes are scheduled as follows:
Day classes begin August 18, 2008. Registration will be July 30, 2008, at 6 p.m. at the Crutchfield Center in Locust.
Evening classes begin August 25, 2008. Registration will be August 6, 2008, at 6 p.m. at the Crutchfield Center in Locust.
