This course is designed to train individuals to become emergency medical personnel.
Topics covered include patient assessment, basic life support techniques, CPR and AED, oxygen administration, patient trauma care, etc.
Upon successful completion, it is recommended that the student participate in written and practical certification examinations administered by the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services.
Entry requirements: Must be a high school graduate or possess GED or have an entry reading level of tenth grade. All students will receive a reading assessment.
Class hours: 156 + 8 hours clinical on EMS unit.
