OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
Coordinate cultural immersion and diversity courses. Operate the language lab and teach classroom sessions. Assist faculty with providing global education throughout their courses. Serve as a liaison for Stanly Community College’s international students.
WORK PERFORMED:
Actively recruit students from international backgrounds for all areas of instruction – Literacy, Occupational Education, and Curriculum
Coordinate courses for the international students on cultural immersion.
Coordinate courses for local citizens on diverse cultures.
Operate the online language labs.
Lead or participate in travel abroad trips sponsored by the College.
Teach classes as assigned each semester, prepare syllabi and distribute appropriately, evaluate students, and participate in course improvements. Create, administer, grade, and maintain records for exams, projects, activities, and reports for evaluation of students in each course.
Provide faculty with information on the acquisition of instructional materials, audiovisual aids, internet support, and equipment needs for incorporation of global education across the curriculum.
Serve as a liaison for Stanly Community College’s international students.
Contact industries/businesses on a quarterly basis to survey their needs for cultural diversity training.
Participate in professional organizations, attend conferences and workshops as appropriate, and maintain professional contacts with instructors in similar instructional areas on other campuses and in area high schools.
Participate in registration, advising and new student orientations.
Attend meetings as determined by the School of Transfer, Corporate and Professional Education, and other areas of the college.
Maintain office hours as part of the weekly workload.
Serve on a variety of campus committees and participate in campus activities.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: Bachelors Degree
