Get Ready for Your GED

sccnewsicon(February 13, 2013) Stanly Community College (SCC) announces the GED EXPRESS class for community members seeking a GED Diploma. In the EXPRESS, students will have the opportunity to take the Official GED® Practice Tests to find out what to expect on the actual GED® tests.

The GED® EXPRESS class will meet from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Crutchfield Education Center on Saturday, February 23, 2013. There is no cost for the class.

After taking the Practice Tests, students will then have the opportunity to schedule the official GED® tests, or to enroll in classes for GED® instruction. GED EXPRESS is open to students who are not currently enrolled in high school or in College and Career Readiness classes at SCC.

In 2014, the GED® 2002 series will expire and a new test series will be in effect. Test scores from the 2002 series will not transfer to the new 2014 test series.

For those needing preparation for the GED® test, SCC will be offering Fast-track GED® three one-day courses at the Crutchfield Education Center in Locust.

The Fast-track courses will be held on Saturdays in March (9th, 16th, and 23rd) from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. These classes are designed especially for adults who do not have a great deal of time to attend college.

Adults who are not currently enrolled in Stanly Community College’s GED® program or in high school are eligible to attend the Fast-track courses. There is no charge for the classes and course materials are provided in class.
