Michelin Donates Funding for AMIT Campaign

Michelin(September 27, 2013) Michelin North America donated $50,000 to support the Stanly Community College (SCC) Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial Technology (AMIT) campaign. Through this targeted campaign, SCC is seeking to raise $3 million for major renovations to the existing Annex Building and Continuing Education Building on the Albemarle campus through cash donations, in-kind donations and grants.

Preston Gray, site manager for Michelin’s Aircraft Tire US11 facility in Norwood, N.C., presented the check to SCC President Dr. Brenda Kays. The funds will be utilized by the College to create and expand training programs for machining, welding, industrial maintenance, and heat/ventilation/air-conditioning.
