Carolina Auction Academy Holds Graduation

Class 18(April 24, 2014) Stanly Community College’s (SCC) Carolina Auction Academy (CAA) recently held its 18th graduation ceremony for students who have completed the arduous 96-hour program. CAA is designed to prepare participants to pass the state exam, obtain a license, and have the tools necessary to enter the business world as an auctioneer.

The auction method of marketing is a growing billion dollar industry and CAA is one of only three schools approved in North Carolina to offer professional auctioneer training. CAA provides a comprehensive program that meets two nights per week at the Crutchfield Education Center in Locust, NC. A team of highly qualified instructors is available to work with students to prepare them to enter the auction profession—whether full time, part time, support staff or to simply be a more informed auction attendee.

At the end of each program, students vote on the Best All-Around award and the Most Improved award from among their classmates. This year’s winners were, Glen Hartshorn, from Charlotte, NC, for Best All-Around award and Dudley Denison, from Salisbury, NC, for the Most Improved award.

Carolina Auction Academy is accredited by the North Carolina Auctioneer Licensing Board and the South Carolina Auctioneer Commission. The next class begins in August. For more information, please contact Betty O’Neal at (704) 991-0200 or visit for complete details.
