2014 Commencement Ceremonies Questions and Answers


When and where is the ceremony?

What time is my ceremony?
Ceremonies will be held at Noon, 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

At noon, at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center, the following programs will graduate:

  • Accounting
  • Advertising and Graphics Design
  • Biomedical Equipment Technology
  • Business Administration
  • Computer Engineering Technology
  • Computer Information Technology
  • Cosmetology
  • Electronics Engineering Technology
  • Esthetics
  • Heavy Equipment Operator
  • Information Systems-Security
  • Networking Technology
  • Simulation and Game Development
  • Telecommunications and Network Engineering Technology

At 3 p.m., at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center, the following programs will graduate:

  • Associate Degree Nursing
  • Medical Assisting
  • Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Radiography
  • Respiratory
  • Associate in Arts
  • Associate in Science
  • Associate in General Education
  • Human Services Technology

At 6 p.m., at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center, the following programs will graduate:

  • Adult High School/High School Equivalency
  • Stanly Early College
  • Early Childhood Associate
  • School Age Education
  • Criminal Justice Technology
  • Cyber Crime Technology

What time do graduates need to arrive?
Graduates need to arrive 45 minutes before their designated ceremony. 

Where do graduates need to gather?
Graduates should report to the main lobby at the Agri-Civic Center for further instructions.

Do guests need tickets?
No, tickets are not required for your guests to attend the ceremony. However, due to limited seating, we ask that
you limit the number of guests invited to five (5) per graduate.

How long does the ceremony typically last?
Each ceremony lasts approximately an hour.

Advanced Complimentary Photographs for Graduates:
Complimentary photographs will be taken of the graduates with the President of the College on May 5 from 11 a.m.
to 11:30 a.m. and again on May 6 from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Photographs will be taken on the Albemarle Campus at
the bridge (between the Kelley building and the Whitley building). Graduates, please be sure to wear your cap
and gown. Photographs will be available to download from http://www.stanly.edu after May 12.

What should graduates wear under their robes?
We suggest you wear your Sunday best (no flip-flops, jeans, shorts, tank-tops, etc.).

Where do I pick up my diploma?
Your diploma will be available for pick-up at the Albemarle Campus in Room 106A PB on Tuesday, May 27.
