Power Equipment and Small Engine Repair

Students will receive instruction in the fundamental operating principles and service procedures of small internal combustion engines, typically utilized in lawn & garden power equipment – to include fuel, ignition, starting, and cooling system components.    Practical application of diagnostic, service, disassembly, and basic engine repair skills will be emphasized – utilizing project engines provided by students.  Students will be required to provide their own “basic mechanic tool set” (per tool list provided) and a heavy duty plastic storage container for their engine parts & materials.   Student originated small engine “projects” are encouraged and require advance approval by Industrial Program Coordinator.  Safety Glasses are required.  Space limited to 10 students.
