The course prepares participants to become professional auctioneers licensed in NC and/or SC; however, there are many other benefits of the course. Graduates of the program will be able to communicate effectively with the public in conducting auctions with an emphasis on professionalism and ethics in accordance with federal, state and local auction laws.

The CAA team of instructors is composed of skilled professionals who understand the needs of the adult learner and the auction industry. Instructors include champions from both North Carolina and South Carolina, as well as the 2010 International Champion, Eli Detweiler, Jr. technology specialists, auctioneers, real estate brokers, lawyers, and special topic guests from the local area. This combination of small class size and quality instructors makes learning both enjoyable and relevant.

Classes meet two nights per week to allow students to fully understand the industry and practice their skills. There are also "interactive videos" sessions available as requested and off-site "visits" are personalized to match student interest. We incorporate technology to allow the use of ZOOM and our platform called CANVAS for SOME of the session we also include field trip type activities and a live student auction. To maximize opportunities for different interest and learning styles.

All of the content required by the North Carolina Auctioneer Licensing Board and the South Carolina Auctioneer Commission will be presented to prepare students to complete the state exams. Also, many effective business related topics are covered and opportunities to practice skills needed to be well prepared to enter the auction marketing arena. Technology is always changing, and the instructors stay current on new uses of technology to add value for the new auctioneer. Hands on practice is provided and Graduates of this program may find entry level employment at an auction house, antique auction gallery, auto auction, cattle sale barn, contract for a general auctioneer or may choose to start their own business. The networking and teamwork during class has resulted in many graduates working together to share their skills and increase success of each other.

Our students have earned the highest passing rate on the state exam for many years and gone on to use their auctioneer license  effectively.
