EMT Paramedic

Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic

This course follows the guidelines established by the North Carolina Office of EMS and the curriculum for the EMT-Paramedic educational program as established by the United States Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This course meets on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Class hours: 596. Clinical hours: 200. Field internship hours 300.

Entry requirements: Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED and have a tenth grade reading level. Students must have a current EMT Basic certification. All students are required to take a reading and math assessment. Medical records including childhood vaccinations, tuberculosis testing, and Hepatitis B vaccine or declination will be required within the first month of class.

Special Requirements: Anatomy and Physiology must be completed prior to the end of class. Successful completion of ACLS, ITLS and PALS is required. Background checks, drug screening, and finger prints are mandatory.
