Medication Aide – Assisted Living


This 24 hour course consists of 21 hours of lecture/lab and 3 hours of clinical experience.  The Medication Aide – Assisted Living course helps prepare the unlicensed medical person in adult care homes, assisted living facilities, group homes, and rest home sections of long-term care facilities to take the Medication Administration Exam administered by the North Carolina Division of Facility Services. Passing the state written exam is the first step to achieving authorization for passing medications to assisted living patients.

Registration is on a first-come, first serve basis, and can be completed online, by phone, or in person.

  • Textbook is required and will be available at the SCC Bookstore during semesters when this course is offered

  • Driver’s License or state ID
  • One uniform for clinical
