Multi-Skilled Nurse Aide Certificate Program


The goal of this program is to prepare students in a wide variety of nursing skills. The successful program completer will be able to perform higher level nurse aide skills, draw blood, and administer medications. The following classes are included in this certificate program:

1. Nurse Aide – Level I

2. Nurse Aide – Level II

3. Phlebotomy Technician

4. EKG Technician

5. Medication Aide – Long Term Care

6. A computer course (see below).

The following computer courses are acceptable: Excel – Introduction; Excel – Intermediate; Excel – Advanced; Learn to Use Your PC; Quickbooks; Word – Introduction; and Word – Intermediate. Others may be considered.

We offer each class in the spring, summer, and fall semesters. You have flexibility in how you schedule your classes. The only required order is that you complete Nurse Aide – Level I prior to enrolling in the Nurse Aide II or Phlebotomy classes. Students must have a US high school diploma or GED or reading test results or 10th grade or higher before starting the Nurse Aide – Level I class. Students must have a US high school diploma or GED before beginning the Nurse Aide II or Phlebotomy Technician classes.

This program is currently approved for payment with WIA funds. However, please note that Stanly Community College cannot guarantee that WIA funds (disseminated through the Employment Security Commission, Gaston Community Action, etc) will pay for your classes.
