Nurse Aide II
This course consists of 175 hours, which includes 95 hours of lecture/lab and competency testing and 80 hours of clinical experience.
Students will learn to set up oxygen, complete dressing changes, assist with IV therapy, administer tube feedings, suction patients, perform trachea care, perform catheter insertions and wound care, and provide care for patients with impactions.
In order to pass the course, students must meet attendance requirements, pass the final written exam and competency testing, and successfully complete the skill modules mandated by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
Requirements: Student must provide proof of high school diploma or GED and must be listed on the NC NA I registry in good standing throughout the duration of the course.
Other costs associated with this course are uniforms, ID tag, textbook , criminal background check, and drug screen. Students will be required to show proof of immunizations prior to clinical assignment – around the 2nd week of class.
