Nurse Aide Level II

This course consists of lecture, lab and competency testing, as well as 80 hours of clinical experience in a hospital. In this course, students learn to set up oxygen, complete dressing changes, assist with IV therapy, administer tube feedings, suction patients, perform tracheotomy care, catherizations and ostomy care, and provide care for patients with impactions. In order to pass the course, students must meet attendance requirements, pass the final written exam and competency testing and successfully complete the skill modules mandated by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.


Students must provide proof of US High School Diploma or GED and must be listed on the NA I registry in good standing throughout the duration of the course. Immunization, criminal background, and drug screen clearances are required by clinical sites.  Criminal background checks and drug screens will be purchased from the college-approved vendor and charged to the student.
