Nurse Aide Level I - Hybrid
This course consists of 175 hours, which includes 125 hours of lecture, lab and test preparation as well as 50 hours of clinical experience in a long term care facility. Student will learn basic nursing skills and how to provide personal care such as vital signs, bed making, bathing, dressing and feeding those who need assistance. Upon satisfactory completion of the course, the graduate will receive a Certificate of Completion and may then apply to take the NNAAP State Exam through NACES. This exam is an additional cost of $96. Once the student has successfully completed the State Exam, they will be listed on the NCNA I Registry.
Other costs associated with this course are uniforms, ID tag, textbook and a criminal background check. Students will be required to show proof of immunizations prior to clinical assignment – around the 2nd week of class.
Students must provide a United States High School diploma or GED, driver’s license, social security card and tuition in full on the day of registration. Those without a US diploma or GED must contact Andrea Steed (704) 991-0253 to schedule an appointment for a reading assessment.
This course is required as a pre-requisite for the SCC Associate Degree in Nursing Program.
