Nurse Aide Level I - Hybrid

This course consists of on-line theory, on-campus lab on Friday, and Sunday clinical experience at a long-term care facility. In this course, students learn how to provide personal care and basic nursing skills such as checking vital signs, bed-making, bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulating, and transferring, which will prepare them to provide safe and competent care to the elderly in a variety of settings. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a Certificate of Completion and be eligible to register for the NNAAP NA I state exam. The cost of the exam is $101. See for further information about the exam. Upon passing the exam, candidates will be eligible to be listed on the NC NA I registry.


US High School Diploma or GED or TABE reading test at 10th grade level or higher, valid photo ID, social security card, up-to-date immunizations, and one of the following: proof of completion of ENG 111/113, a Bachelors degree, or TABE reading test at 11th grade level or higher. Students must purchase uniforms for clinical, ID badge ($2), textbook ($10 plus tax), and criminal background check ($40-$50). The cost of registration is $202.50. It is due in full at the time of registration.
