CNC Machinist Training Program


Stanly Community College (SCC) offers a two-semester training program for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinists. This program is unique to the region in that it partners with local industry and provides not only basic and CNC machining but also alternative machining training.

Students who complete the two-semester training program will have completed 408 contact hours that include:

  • OSHA (10 Hour Certification)
  • Blue Print Reading I & II
  • Basic Measuring Instruments
  • Math
  • Manual Mill & Lathe
  • Basic Programming
  • CAM Programming Mill & Lathe
  • CNC Lathe & Mill Operation
  • Advanced Machining Techniques
  • Intro to Lean Mfg
  • Career Readiness Certificate
