Whether you are interested in a specific software program or just want to learn how to use your computer, SCC has the course for you.

We offer eight-week sessions, one-day boot camps, and can customize a course to meet the needs of your organization.

There is a registration fee plus a $5 lab fee for classes held in the computer labs. Most classes require a textbook. All computer classes require preregistration and prepayment. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS—Online
CS is the latest version of the popular and functional image editing software from Adobe. Used worldwide by image professionals, it sets the standard for all other software in this category. This class will be taught online. No prior knowledge of image editing is required for this basic course, but good computer skills are essential. Textbook required. Class hours: 24.

COMPUTERS: EXCEL
Excel 2003 is the No. 1 Windows based spreadsheet program that enables you to turn data into information with powerful tools to analyze, communicate, and share results. Excel 2003 can help you work better in teams and help protect and control access to your work. In addition, you can work with industry-standard Extensible Markup Language (XML) data to make it easier to connect to business processes. In this introductory class you will learn about the basic functionality of this powerful tool and will learn to build professional looking worksheets that include effective use of formulas, functions, charts, and graphics. COMPUTERS: LEARN TO USE YOUR PC
This class is for the absolute beginner in personal computing. Learn to Use Your PC assumes absolutely no prior knowledge or experience with your PC. We will teach you how to turn on your computer; how to use the mouse, keyboard, and printer; and how to find and use some of the programs that came with your Windows-based computer. Textbook required. Class hours: 24.

COMPUTERS: POWERPOINT 2003
Learn how to use PowerPoint 2003, Microsoft's powerful presentation program (and part of the Microsoft Office Professional Suite). PowerPoint is one of the best presentation programs on the market today because it is easy to learn, packed with useful features, and fun to use. The presentations you create in PowerPoint have a variety of uses both business and personal. During the class you will learn to create dynamic presentations employing a variety of visual and multimedia effects. Topics include choosing a slide layout; designing and using charts (graphs); inserting clip art; and changing the look and feel of your presentation through the use of color and backgrounds, animation, sounds, and other slide show techniques. COMPUTERS: QUICKBOOKS
Learn to quickly manage basic accounting tasks, print checks, pay bills, and generate reports. Invoice customers with a professional style. Organize company, customer, and tax information in one place. Textbook required. Class hours: 24.

COMPUTERS: QUICKBOOKS—PAYROLL
Learn to keep control on employee taxes, withholdings, and payroll filings. Determine ways to make your payroll run smoothly. Textbook required. Class hours: 24.

COMPUTERS: WEB—USE IT SAFELY
This class is designed for students with a basic understanding of computer usage and would be an excellent follow-up for those students completing the Learn to Use Your PC class or for any one who wants to learn more about their PC and the web. It covers the basics of using and understanding the World Wide Web and email including terminology, basic concepts, knowledge, and skills required to identify and use available Internet resources and the knowledge and skills required to maintain a safe surfing and email environment.
