Eagles Getting Ready to Soar
The day was led by President Dr. Michael Taylor addressing the students before members of the staff spoke to the students on academic and athletic expectations. Tammy McIlwaine organized the event that included a luncheon and a speaker from Stanly Regional Hospital on exercise science.
Eagle baseball all-region returnee Jacob Wright said, “It’s good to see the college is working with us to develop our character and leadership skills. I look forward to a very successful year on the diamond.” Lady Eagle pitcher Kati King stated, “I felt that today was good in a sense that we were able to be around our teammates all day and interact with one another. I think if we all work together we should have a very strong team this year.”
Both athletic teams will begin their respective fall practice this week. The baseball team ended its 2010 season with a record of 27-23 while the softball team also had a very successful season on the ball field.
