Finding Books and Articles

You can begin your research at the library home page. Here you can search the library catalog for books. You can also get to databases that include newspapers, journals, reports, magazines, and more.

If you are looking for a specific book or article, you can search the catalog or database by title or author's name. You can also search by keyword. Keywords are words that describe the subject of your research.

For example, if you are searching for information on how globalization has affected Thailand, you could use these keywords: You should also think of words with similar meanings or related ideas. For example:

The use of similar words, or synonyms, is important for library research. This can be difficult even for people who are fluent in English. You might want to use a thesaurus or dictionary for help.

You may need to combine different keywords to get good search results. You can use the word AND to narrow your search:
