Learning Resources Center—Media Services Policies

Equipment Circulation
A variety of audiovisual equipment (TVs, VCRs, and overhead projectors) have been assigned to specific campus buildings for use by faculty and staff. Faculty and staff may also check out equipment through the LRC for use on or off campus.

To reserve equipment for on-campus or off-campus use, faculty and staff should complete a Media Services Request Form a minimum of two working days in advance of the date the equipment is needed. Availability of equipment cannot be guaranteed without a prior written request.

Students who wish to use audiovisual equipment should contact the Director of Media Services to discuss their needs.

Production Services
The Media Services Department provides assistance to faculty, staff, and students with the production of audiovisual materials. Assistance with minor production services such as audio or videotape duplication or transparency production can usually be provided without prior notice. However, to ensure that assistance will be available, a Media Services Request Form should be completed two days in advance.

Instructors and students who need assistance with classroom assignments such as videotaping of demonstrations, speeches, laboratory routines, etc., should contact the Director of Media Services as soon as possible to discuss a schedule. Such assistance and/or scheduling of equipment and facilities cannot be guaranteed without adequate advance notice.

For assistance with videotape and/or multimedia productions, a planning meeting should be scheduled with the Director of Media Services to discuss objectives, a production schedule, and resources required for the project. This meeting should be scheduled a minimum of two weeks in advance of beginning the project.
