TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills)
(Required only for applicants to the Associate Degree Nursing program.)
Applicants to Stanly Community College’s Associate Degree Nursing program will take a standardized nurse entrance exam known as TEAS as part of their admissions process. After an applicant has (1) satisfactorily completed the placement test or (2) has completed with a GPA of at least 3.0 all “non-nursing” courses (those with prefix other than NUR) required in the ADN program, he or she will be invited to take the TEAS. (See admission requirement No. 5 under Associate Degree Nursing Admissions Procedures.)
The TEAS is administered on a quarterly basis. (See TEAS schedule below.) Applicants may take the TEAS as often as desired. The test must be taken through Stanly Community College. There is a minimal charge for TEAS. Study guides are available for purchase in the SCC bookstore at both the Albemarle and Crutchfield campuses. After receiving their invitation to take the TEAS, applicants should call the admissions office at (704) 991-0226 or email bburris5069@stanly.edu to schedule for testing.
