Are you annoyed by lists that do not seem to display in any order? For example, your All Programs list on your Start menu or your Favorites list in Internet Explorer may seem to be jumbled and hard to use. Aha! Here's a tip to help you organize those jumbled lists.

Overview: When you have the list open, RIGHT click on it and choose Sort by Name and **voila**, the list is sorted alphabetically.

Step by step process:

  1. Click the Start button (this displays the start menu)
  2. Hover your mouse over the All Programs command (this displays the All Programs list)
  3. RIGHT click on any occupied area of the All Programs list (this displays the shortcut menu for the list)
  4. Choose Sort by Name from the shortcut menu. (the entire list is sorted alphabetically)

Use the same steps for sorting your Favorites list in Internet Explorer. (This will only work from the list displayed by clicking the Favorites MENU; it will NOT work on the list displayed as a result of a click on the Favorites BUTTON).
