(August 4, 2008) Stanly Community College (SCC) instructor Eli Detweiler Jr., recently earned runner-up position at the International Auctioneer Championship (IAC), held in Nashville, TN. Mr. Detweiler is an instructor for SCC’s Carolina Auction Academy (CAA). Detweiler was judged by an interview and a bid calling contest, along with ninety-seven (97) other top auctioneers from around the nation, before taking home his title.
“We’re very proud of Eli and his recent success at the IAC. Eli brings compassion, flexibility, humor and imagination to the classroom for his students,” remarked Betty O’Neal, Director, Business Resource Center at Stanly Community College.
Detweiler graduated from the Worldwide College of Auctioneering in 1994 and has worked over 2000 auctions since then. He resides in Ruffin, NC with his wife Candace and children Alexis and Logan.
Carolina Auction Academy is accredited by the North Carolina Auctioneer Licensing Board and South Carolina Auctioneer Commission and is located at the Crutchfield Education Center, located in Locust, NC.
