SCC Hosts Webb Scholars

(December 3, 2007) Stanly Community College (SCC) recently held its annual Webb Scholars luncheon in the Dennis Community Room located on the Albemarle campus.  The scholarship program, funded by the Crutchfield Family Foundation, is named in honor of SCC trustee Dr. H. T. "Toby" Webb, Jr., who has served as a trustee at SCC since 1984.

SCC President Dr. Michael Taylor began the program with a warm welcome, followed by invocation from Charles T. Mangham, SCC Ambassador and Webb Scholar. Guest speaker was Janet Sistare, Executive Director for the United Way of Stanly County.

The Webb Scholar program provides twenty annual scholarships to prospective male students enrolled either in the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, or Associate in Applied Science degree programs.
