(July 12, 2007) Stanly Community College sponsored Healthy Habits Day Camp on June 27, 2007, at the Albemarle campus. Dozens of Montgomery County Girl Scouts and their leaders participated in summer camp activities hosted by SCC.
The Respiratory Therapy faculty, staff, and students prepared this fun and interactive day for the scouts through various skill building, career exploration, and service badge requirement activities. The Stanly County EMS participated with active demonstrations.
“This was an excellent opportunity for our Respiratory Therapy students to reach out to the community and educate others about vital health issues such as smoking cessation, good nutrition, and physical fitness,” commented Judy Adrian, Director, Clinical Education, Respiratory Therapy program.
"One goal for our program is community education. The Respiratory Therapy students did an excellent job for all of their assigned duties and took ownership in this project. We are grateful for their commitment to the success of this day camp,” added Lanny Inabnit, Faculty Instructor, Respiratory Therapy program.
