(March 7, 2008) Stanly Community College (SCC) will offer assistance for those who are seeking financial aid for educational expenses on April 7 - 10 from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. in the Financial Aid Office located in the Patterson Building at the Albemarle campus. Appointments and financial aid counseling are available.
“The more education you get, the more likely it is you will always have a job,” said Dr. Russell Sharples, SCC Vice President of Student Development. “If you are searching for options to pay for college, we invite you to learn about the various kinds of financial aid available at SCC. Many universities and colleges have big price tags and it tends to discourage folks from applying, but there are many financial aid options out there and SCC remains affordable for those who want to continue their education,” added Dr. Sharples.
Opportunities for student financial aid are available to every student who can demonstrate financial need or superior academic achievement. Stanly Community College offers a comprehensive program of student financial aid and will make every effort to help students obtain financial assistance. It is the philosophy of the Financial Aid Office to assist students in meeting educational expenses through need-based or merit-based grants, scholarships, and work-study programs based on eligibility and available funds.
The SCC Financial Aid Office invites you to join us on April 7 - 10, 2008. Please contact the Financial Aid Office at (704) 991-0302 or visit our web site at www.stanly.edu for more information and any required documentation needed to complete a financial aid application.
