(May 19, 2008) Stanly Community College (SCC) presented a check for $1200 to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, after funds were raised by Carolina Auction Academy (CAA) students during the student auction held at Hinson's Auction Barn.
“The student auction is part of the requirements for graduating from CAA, and it’s always a big hit with the students,” commented Betty O’Neal, CAA Instructor. “Ted Hinson, owner of Hinson’s Auction Barn in Oakboro, NC, and his family, are always gracious enough to host the student auctions at their place of business,” added O’Neal.
Jeff Hamilton, of H&H Woodworking in Polkton, NC, and a graduate of CAA, created and presented a wooden seal for CAA. “We’re happy to accept this wonderful piece of artwork on behalf of the Carolina Auction Academy,” remarked Ms. O’Neal.
CAA’s next class begins in late August. Classes meet two nights a week, and the tuition is $60. For more information, contact Betty O’Neal at (704) 991-0142, or email at caa@stanly.edu.
