September 9, 2007 Stanly Community College was happy to receive a check from the Albemarle Wal-Mart to help fund scholarships for students who attend SCC. It is the philosophy of SCC to assist students in meeting educational expenses through need-based or merit-based grants, scholarships, and work study programs to the maximum extent possible based on eligibility and available funds.
“We are thankful to Wal-Mart for their donation,” commented Pamera Brafford, Executive Director, SCC Foundation. “Wal-Mart plays a vital role in helping SCC continue educational programs that are essential to our community through their scholarship donation,” added Brafford.
