Another Graduating Class for Carolina Auction Academy

(April 29, 2008) Stanly Community College’s (SCC) Carolina Auction Academy (CAA) recently held its sixth graduating class ceremonies at the Crutchfield Campus in Locust, NC.   SCC President Dr. Michael Taylor presented diplomas to the recent graduates and Vice President Tanya Davis, and Dean of Continuing Education Ed Thomas, were also present to congratulate the students.

In addition to receiving their diploma, students vote on two annual awards—Most Improved and Best All Around.  The Most Improved went to Terry Henderson from Rock Hill, SC and Best All Around went to Jonathan Couick from Monroe, NC.  Following the ceremony, students, family and friends enjoyed refreshments and watched a video of the student auction held April 3rd at Hinson’s Auction Barn.

CAA Instructor Bill O’Neal spoke briefly about some of the prior students and their successes, and encouraged the class to stay in contact and learn from each other.   Students will be taking their state exam on June 5th in Fugquay Varina, NC.  CAA provides an optional review night on June 2nd to allow graduates to return for review and practice prior to taking the state exam.

Carolina Auction Academy is accredited by both North and South Carolina and has recently received national recognitions.  If you are interested in learning more about the auction profession, or simply want to improve your confidence level when speaking with the public, the next CAA class will begin in September.  For additional information go to CAA.stanly.edu or call Betty O’Neal at 704-991-0142.
