Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)

Stanly Community College’s (SCC) reaffirmation of accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) was awarded in 2015. Accreditation affirms that SCC is providing a quality educational experience to all students. Our Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), which is part of the reaffirmation process, is called “The EDGe”. The EDGe, which stands for Engage, Develop, Grow with eLearning, is designed to enhance and improve the student eLearning experience. The central feature of The EDGe is an online preparation tool, called The EDGe Experience. These modules help students become more effective, successful eLearners. SCC is focused on student success, and The EDGe contributes to that success in the eLearning environment and beyond.

The EDGe includes:

  • Basic skills to become a successful eLearner
  • Expectations of eLearning
  • Navigation of an online course
  • Technology requirements for online courses and where to get help
  • Professional skills such as proper communication, organization, and time management

The EDGe Experience was piloted in Fall 2014 with select ACA classes and became available to all curriculum students beginning in Spring 2015. In Spring 2016, a customized version was created and implemented for students at the Albemarle Correctional Institute. Watch for more information and be prepared to get The EDGe in eLearning. If you have questions about The EDGe, contact QEP Co-Directors Tabitha Bailey (tbailey8121@stanly.edu or 704-991-0227) and Rita Love (rlove9827@stanly.edu or 704-991-0328).
