August 5, 2015, marked the 10 year anniversary of the first Carolina Auction Academy (CAA) class held at Stanly Community College (SCC). Registration for the first class (2005) was limited to 20 students, but upon requests from supporters, the limit was lifted and 25 students were enrolled.
The Carolina Auction Academy has graduated over 200 students in the past 10 years. These students have traveled to the College from all corners of North Carolina to attend CAA classes two nights per week.
This class is open to anyone 18 years of age and older with a desire to learn more about the auction method of marketing. Whether your auction career plans include estate, livestock, auto, antiques or real estate, professional instructors are committed to providing a top-notch education in this growing billion dollar industry. Carolina Auction Academy is one of only three schools approved in North Carolina to offer professional auctioneer training.
New this year, the NC Auctioneer Licensing Board asked CAA to create a class and study guide for those interested in taking the Auction Firm/Designated Person exam. Led by CAA Instructor Betty O’Neal, this project was completed and the first class was taught in July 2015. The College will be offering it several times a year.
Carolina Auction Academy’s next class starts August 17. Interested persons should contact Betty O’Neal at 704-991-0142.
