people in 43 states and around the world, and is recognized as one of the country’s top youth speakers.

Motivational youth speaker EJ Carrion shared his unique story about skydiving, success, and entrepreneurship to a packed auditorium at Stanly Community College (SCC) on Tuesday, March 12th, during the “Illuminate Your Pathway” event. A Perkins Grant and SCC’s Small Business Center (SBC) funded this free event in an effort to educate students and community members on how to take entrepreneurial control of their lives.

EJ Carrion has been featured on ABC, NBC, and Fox news affiliates. He is the #1 Amazon Best Selling author of Accelerate Your Success: How to Create a Future and Stand Out When College is Not Enough. EJ is the Founder and CEO of Student Success Agency which is scaling one-on-one attention in education by allowing students to receive traditional services like, mentoring, tutoring, and advising, anywhere anytime from their cellphones. EJ recently represented Student Success Agency at the White House as a special guest speaker on college success and was recognized by Forbes as a top 30 entrepreneur under the age of 30 in 2018.

Dr. John Enamait, SCC President, gave opening remarks at the event and introduced EJ to an audience filled with students, faculty, and community members.

Mr. Carrion encouraged students to start working on their dreams and goals now, and that success takes time and hard work. He spoke about the variety of careers students will have available in the future, even careers that have not been invented yet. He stressed the importance of technology and capitalizing on new ways of doing things. “We were delighted to have EJ Carrion as our guest speaker today at SCC. His energy and insightfulness will inspire many of our students to keep reaching for success and entrepreneurship as they face obstacles and challenges on their educational journey and beyond,” noted Dr. Enamait.
