Community Job Fair Held

Stanly Community College (SCC) was one of many sponsors involved in the recent Stanly County Community Job Fair held April 11, 2017, at Stanly County Commons in Albemarle, NC. Over 200 job seekers attended the fair, consisting of more than 50 employers located inside and outside
Stanly County.

Centralina Workforce and the SCC-TV Marketing Department conducted interviews with job seekers and participating companies. Door prizes were awarded throughout the day to lucky winners.

Other sponsors of the Job Fair include NCWorks Career Center, Stanly County Chamber of Commerce, Stanly County Health Department, Pfeiffer University, Vocational Rehabilitation, Centralina Workforce Development Board, and Resource Development Center, Inc.

"The Stanly County Career Fair was a collaborative effort with several community partners combining resources to host a larger event comparable to surrounding counties," commented Marcus Pryor, Associate Dean of Students & Career Placement. "We need these types of events in Stanly County not only to connect employers and job seekers but also to build and strengthen the economy across the county. We expect to continue having these events in the future."
