Cosmetology Students Perform Community Service

Students of the Cosmetology program at Stanly Community College (SCC) have been regularly participating in community service events for senior citizens. Stanly County Senior Service - Congregate Nutrition program provides a meal in addition to daily educational and recreational programs at four sites around the county.

Under the direction of Instructor Linda Hatley, senior citizens had the opportunity to get free manicures from students using the latest products and nail techniques in the industry. Many men and women have taken advantage of this service and have been very pleased with their results. The picture shown is from the Norwood location for Senior Services.

The SCC Cosmetology program offers instruction to both men and women in all phases of cosmetology including professional imaging, hair design, chemical processes, skin care, nail care, multicultural practices, business/computer principles, product knowledge, and other selected topics.

Hair and nail services are available to the public at very reasonable prices. All work is performed by students under the supervision of instructors. The Albemarle location is located in Burleson Square while the West Stanly location is located at West Stanly High School. For Albemarle appointments, call (704) 982-3304 and for West Stanly, call (704) 485-2793.
