Cosmetology Students Provide Manicures for Seniors

Students of the Cosmetology program at Stanly Community College (SCC) recently participated in a community service event held for senior citizens. Stanly County Senior Services -Congregate Nutrition provides a meal in addition to daily educational and recreational programs at four sites around the county.

Under the direction of Instructor Linda Hatley, seniors had the opportunity to get free manicures from students using the latest products and nail techniques in the industry. Many men and women took advantage of this service and walked away pleased with well-groomed and attractive fingernails.

The SCC Cosmetology program offers instruction to both men and women in all phases of cosmetology including professional imaging, hair design, chemical processes, skin care, nail care, multicultural practices, business/computer principles, product knowledge, and other selected topics.

A variety of these services are available to the public at very reasonable prices. All work is performed by students under the supervision of instructors. To make an appointment for hair or skin services, call (704) 982-3304. For more information about the Cosmetology program, call 704-991-0374 or visit the program page.
