Students in the Digital Photography Certificate program at Stanly Community College (SCC) recently completed their training. A graduation ceremony was held on August 18 in the Dennis Auditorium of the Kelley Building. Refreshments were served during a reception in the Webb Student Center, following the graduation ceremony. Each student prepared a photo portfolio for guests, family, and friends to review and critique.
The Digital Photography Certificate program is designed to deliver students with knowledge and skills necessary to work either independently or assisting professionals in various areas of photography. Students received training in the photographic techniques specific to portraiture, commercial, and photojournalism. Course work included in-depth study of location techniques, lighting, digital imaging, retouching, and layout design. Additional topics included the study of photographing news, sports, features, and photo stories.
The next Digital Photography course begins on September 8.
