Jackie Morgan Furr Endowed Scholarship has been established at SCC.
Stanly Community College (SCC) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Jackie Morgan Furr Heritage Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship is designated for students enrolled in programs at the Allied Health Signature Campus, Crutchfield Education Center, Locust, NC. The Allied Health Signature Campus hosts many medical curriculums with state-of-the-art equipment and a 1,700 square foot simulation hospital training center.
Mrs. Jackie Furr Beeker served as a trustee on the SCC Board of Trustees from 1997-2007. She also served many years on the SCC Foundation Board and was an emeritus member of the Foundation Board after her tenure. Mrs. Beeker was a donor for the 21st Century Scholars program, a program that supports nominated students throughout high school and upon their graduation gives full two-year scholarships at SCC. Indeed, Mrs. Beeker has always been very supportive of the College and active in our community.
"Stanly Community College is grateful to Mrs. Jackie Furr Beeker and her family for this endowment. In their desire to recognize the legacy of Mrs. Beeker at Stanly Community College, this gift will continue to make a positive impact on others. Many lives will forever be changed by their generosity," said Christy Bogle, Director of SCC Foundation.
Mrs. Beeker has lived a life committed to helping others and has always supported Stanly Community College's mission to change lives. Pamela Kleinman, Mrs. Beeker's daughter said, "My father's long-term involvement with and support of SCC inspired my mother to carry on his work after he passed away. She has kept SCC and many other local Stanly County organizations close to her heart for many years. Her efforts not only help those in need, but also exemplify charity, kindness and love." The establishment of this endowment scholarship will continue to impress her legacy upon the lives of all its recipients for many years to come.
