SCC Announces Academic Summer Camps

Stanly Community College (SCC) will host a variety of academic summer camps scheduled for June and July. The camps are designed for rising fourth through ninth graders, and are scheduled for morning or afternoon sessions. The summer camps include Agribusiness; Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration; Basketball; Cheerleading; Collision Repair and Refinishing; Computer-Integrated Machining; Crime Scene Investigation; Engineering Technology; Graphic Design; Heavy Equipment and Welding; Nail Manicuring; Self-Defense; and Simulation and Game Development.

Several new camps have been added this year that include a Nail Manicuring camp at the Albemarle Public Housing Authority, Basketball, Graphic Design, and Cheerleading camps at the E.E. Waddell Center in Albemarle. The cost for the camps range between $20 and $50, depending on the camp. Each camp will be a supervised academic program in a safe and fun-filled environment, either at the main College campus in Albemarle, E.E. Waddell Center (Albemarle), or the Public Housing Authority Center (Albemarle).
