Stanly Community College (SCC) announced the winners of the annual art show during an opening reception held on March 26, 2019, on the Albemarle campus. Every year, the College encourages students, faculty, and staff to display their creative pieces for public viewing. This year’s exhibit showcased several genres of artistic talent that included oil paintings, pencil drawings, sculptures, digital art, and photography, just to name a few.
During the opening reception, Josh Gooch, SCC’s Advertising and Graphic Design Program Head, thanked guests and artists for attending the reception, the library for hosting the event, and the Student Government Association (SGA) for sponsoring the award ribbons for the show. “What an amazing variety of artwork on display,” noted Mr. Gooch. “Thanks to all who helped make this year’s event so successful. Every piece of artwork, whether it’s a photograph or a sculpture, should help us aspire to look for the beauty and inspiration that is all around us,” he added.
