Albemarle, NC - Stanly Community College’s Carolina Auction Academy (CAA) recently held their annual student auction to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Stanly Community College Foundation. Students raised $750 and this charity fundraiser was the second student-led auction for this class. Previously, the students conducted an auction for the Albemarle Police Department. Annual awards were presented to students selected by their peers for Most Improved and Best All Around. Chris Perryman received the Most Improved and Kevin Lance was selected as Best all around.
“This has been a very active, creative class full of good ideas. Students were able to master the law, rules and regulations of auctioneering,” said Bill O’Neal, CAA Instructor. Students will return on November 30th for a final review prior to taking the state exam to receive their NC auctioneer license. The next class of Carolina Auction Academy will begin January 29, 2018.
