SCC Biomedical Equipment Technology Student Wins State Scholarship

Chris Herrick, a second-year student in the Biomedical Equipment Technology Program at Stanly Community College (SCC) recently won the prestigious Norman “Red” Reeves Scholarship at the North Carolina Biomedical Association (NCBA) Annual Symposium in Concord, NC.

Chris has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout his student career at SCC and is scheduled to complete his Associate in Applied Science Degree in the spring of 2016. Chris lives with his family in West End, NC, near Pinehurst, and travels each day to attend classes at the Albemarle Campus.

The Norman “Red” Reeves Scholarship Fund was established in 1993 by Douglas Medical, Inc., and Biomedical Equipment Rental & Sales, Inc., to provide academic scholarships to students enrolled in the North Carolina Community College System’s Biomedical Equipment Technology Program. The scholarship is administrated by the NCBA Scholarship Committee, appointed annually by the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Biomedical Association. The applicant must be working toward an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology.
