The Stanly Community College Board of Trustees, in their Presidential search, reviewed many applications and asked twelve candidates to submit a video. Out of those candidates, five were selected for a formal interview. We would like to thank these applicants for their effort and time spent with us. This has been a very difficult decision, but the Board of Trustees are proud to announce that Dr. John D. Enamait has been appointed the next President of Stanly Community College, pending State Board of Community College approval. Dr. Enamait’s first day will be Monday, August 15th. Dr. Enamait comes to SCC with a very strong educational background. These qualifications include Vice President of Instruction at Edgecombe Community College in Tarboro, North Carolina, since 2014. Prior to his role as Vice President, he served as Dean of the School of Business, Industry, and Technology at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, North Carolina. Dr. Enamait received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. He earned his Ph.D. in Technology Management with a Digital Communication specialization from Indiana State University in 2012. Additionally, Dr. Enamait is a North Carolina Community College graduate, earning an Associate in Applied Science from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute.
The Board of Trustees, faculty and staff are very excited about our next president. Dr. Enamait is equally excited, as well:
“I am humbled by the opportunity to become the next President of Stanly Community College. I would like to thank the Board of Trustees for their confidence in me and I am looking forward to working with our faculty and staff and to continue their strong commitment to student success as we move the college forward. I am equally excited to become a part of Stanly County and look forward to working with our local partners to strengthen our community.”
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Enamait to our community!
