SCC Commencement Ceremonies Scheduled for May 10

 

Albemarle, NC - Stanly Community College (SCC) will hold its annual commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 10, at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center in Albemarle. Three separate ceremonies will be held throughout the day to accommodate the graduates who will receive degrees, diplomas, and certificates during this special day.

The ceremonies are scheduled for noon, 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. At noon, the following programs will graduate: Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, Collision Repair & Refinishing, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Integrated Machining, Electronics Engineering Technology, Heavy Equipment Operations, Welding Technology, Associate Degree Nursing, Emergency Medical Services, LPN to RN, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Technology, Pharmacy Technology, Radiography and Respiratory Therapy.

At 3:00 p.m., the following programs will graduate: Criminal Justice Technology, Early Childhood Education, Human Services Technology, School Age Education, Accounting, Advertising and Graphic Design, Agribusiness Technology, Business Administration, Cosmetology, Information Technology-Business Support, Information Technology-Network Management, and Simulation and Game Development.

At 6:00 p.m., the following programs will graduate: Adult High School, Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, High School Equivalency, and Stanly Early College. In addition to conferring degrees on students from adult high school through the associate degree level, the College will also present the following awards: Academic Excellence Award; Outstanding Alumni Award; Annie Ruth Kelley Student Leadership Award; Dr. George E. Eddins Jr. Award of Distinction in Allied Health Education; Dianne H. Burton Community Service Award; Edward J. Snyder Jr. Exceptional Scholars Award; and the Shirley Dennis Basic Skills Outstanding Student Award.

Each ceremony will be available for viewing on SCC-TV Time Warner Cable Channel 21 and the College’s website after May 24.
