Richard Lane Brown III, one of the original SCC Board of Trustees, and an elected member of the North Carolina House of Representatives from 1971-1976, helped guide the College in its creation in the very early beginnings. Mr. Brown was one of the keynote speakers during SCC’s 50th Anniversary Kickoff Celebration held this past July on the Albemarle campus.
