As the Masters was getting underway in Augusta, the 13th Annual Stanly Classic Golf Tournament also kicked off on Friday, April 10, 2016, at the Tillery Tradition Country Club, located in Mt. Gilead, NC. The Stanly Classic is a major event of the Stanly Community College (SCC) Foundation and provides scholarship assistance for local students.
Breezy conditions were a challenge, but didn’t stop the twenty-one teams from competing for many prize giveaways. One stroke determined the win in close scores as Clint Miller Exterminating took first place, Carolina CAT took second place, and Omega Construction came in for third place.

The 2016 Golf Tournament Committee Members included; Ron Swanner—Chair, Paul Childress, John Barringer, Banks Garrison, Lee Pickler, and Chris Bennett.
