On Saturday, February 23, the Stanly Community College (SCC) Cosmetology Department provided free haircuts, make-up, and nail services to individuals with disabilities for the Annual Sweetheart Dance.

The Annual Sweetheart Dance is sponsored by the Pine Grove United Methodist Church for individuals with disabilities from GHA Autism Supports, Monarch, Elite Care Services, Lifespan Abilities Illuminated, and individuals who live independently. Participating SCC Cosmetology students volunteered to provide this free service.

"SCC and our students have a strong desire to give back to the community,” stated David Smith, Program Head of the SCC Cosmetology Department. “I am proud of our students offering their skills to help others and hope this provides a lasting impression of volunteerism.”
