Albemarle, NC - Instructors for Stanly Community College’s (SCC) Cisco Academy Support Center (ASC) and Instructor Training Center (ITC) received a 3-Star Premier+ Partner award from Cisco Networking Academy officials during a recent conference in San Jose, California. SCC was the only Academy Support Center in North America and Canada to earn this distinction.

Kelly Caudle, SCC Program Head, ASC/ITC, stated, “The entire ASC/ITC team would like to extend our most sincere thanks to Cisco for choosing SCC to receive the 3-Star Premier+ Partner award. Amazingly, this is our second year in a row achieving this feat. Please join me in thanking Merlin Amirtharaj, Rita Chrane, Brandon Crump, Brian Crump, Nick Huneycutt, Frank Lambert, Sylvia Lewis, Rita Lykke and Gonda Watson for all they do to make our ASC/ITC so successful. I have always said SCC is successful because we refuse to be constrained by our size. The team above helps us to constantly ‘punch above our weight!’”

The Cisco Networking Academy program is an e-learning model that teaches networking and other information technology skills utilizing web-based educational content, online testing, student performance tracking, hands-on labs and instructor training and support.

The Cisco Networking Academy began at Stanly Community College in the Fall of 1998. From its inception, we have been involved in teaching student classes locally, providing instructor training classes and offering support for other Cisco Academies.

We currently serve 140 Cisco Networking Academies in high schools, community colleges and universities throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida and Alabama. Additionally, our local classes allow Stanly County residents to obtain advanced information technology training.

SCC’s Instructor Training Center offers Cisco Network Academy instructor training in an online, blended distance learning format. Classes utilize Webex for instructor interaction and Netlabs for class labs. SCC also provides Fast Track testing and classes for both Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
