Stanly Community College (SCC) has announced the State Employees' Credit Union (SECU) Foundation's People Helping People scholarship recipients for 2015. Each semester, the SECU Foundation awards scholarships to students who are enrolled in a continuing education program at Stanly Community College.
This program was established by the SECU Foundation in 2012 to help remove financial barriers for students seeking to gain new and/or upgrade current job-related skills. In order for a student to be considered, he or she must be enrolled in a short-term training program which leads to a state-regulated or industry-recognized credential that is offered through continuing education.
This semester’s scholarship recipients are: Michael Thomas and Christopher Rivera (Welding); David Brock and Jesse Smith (Auto Body); Brandon Hartsell (Electrical Lineman) and Benjamin Wilson (Machining).
